If a damaged area of a rug to cover is too big, and in order to make the repair cost effective, we suggest a patching job. This involves selecting a fragment of like color, design, weave, and age to hand sew into the damaged area of the textile. Patching is a practical solution if reweaving the missing area happens to be cost prohibitive, or if a textile does not have the value to warrant a reweave (restoration.) In rare cases, when a textile is too brittle to sew, a piece of mesh is placed on the back of the textile, covered in liquid latex, and then patched.
